This week’s shoot is a throwback to the late afternoon summer sun that we’re all dreaming about right now. Set in the stunning grounds of the Georgian Manor House Court Lodge near Tunbridge Wells the styled shoot is afternoon tea themed and uses some lovely china tea-sets and tableware from Wells Vintage Tea Party. The florals by Gorgeous Floral Design are eye popping with bright colours using flower of the moment Protea to make the bouquet big and bold. We spoke to Tony & Carol from Oakhouse Photography to find out more about the shoot…
The aim of the shoot was to showcase country garden styling complete with Afternoon Tea in late summer. We wanted to provide a ‘pop of colour’ for the shoot to show that summer weddings don’t have to be pastel, and that bold and warm colours work well, especially in late summer with the beginning of the ‘golden light’ season… We love shooting in natural light, and love the golden light season which starts late summer and goes through to early/mid autumn!
Court Lodge is a Georgian Manor House that has been in the same family since 1730. Their plans are to continue to restore the House and Gardens to their former glory and to share them by hosting functions, including weddings, in the near future.
Gorgeous Floral Design created a wild and loose look, using dramatic flowers such as Protea and Love Lies Bleeding, and complimented these with lush, flowing foliage. The bridal hoops added a great twist to the usual bouquet, along with the relaxed free-falling hand tied arrangement.
Candra from Wildrose Hair created soft, natural styles which were romantic and in keeping with the natural make-up and delicate wedding gowns. Braids were used on both models to create a slightly bohemian style – a popular style for the today’s modern bride.
Well this shoot has us pining for Summer but does give you loads of inspiration on what you can achieve using bright, bold colours for your wedding theme, so happy planning! Plus we have both been swooning over the flowers (those hoops!) and the hair braids on this shoot. Click here for more styled shoots and do check out the suppliers below.
