You might have noticed things being a bit different around the blog and on our social media platforms? After over a year of being live we thought it was time to enlist in some help to create a Bride and Tonic brand that we felt truly captured our vision of creating a simple, stylised blog that was easy to read, calm on the eyes and a soothing tonic to your wedding woes with an ethical twist.
Keep reading to find out who we got to help and the inspiration behind our new look…
We met Kelly from White Cottage Weddings and her husband Toby at the wedding festival Wedfest in the Spring and loved their fun, colourful wedding stationery designs. Plus they were both super fun and lovely so we knew that it would be a pleasure to work with them!
We sent Kelly a brief with an overview of why we started the blog and how we saw the brand evolving in the future. We gave examples of brands whose style we admire and some visual thought starters as well as a deliverables list. For example it was time to create some blog badges so our suppliers could shout out about being part of the Bride and Tonic family.
Our vision was to create a style that complimented our brand promise of creating a blog that is ‘simple, stylised, easy to read, calm on the eyes and a soothing tonic to your wedding woes’. This meant a fresh, clean colour palette drawing inspiration from the ethical side of the blog. We are big fans of the Scandi look and love the colour grey (you should see both of our houses) but we knew we needed an accent colour and are obsessed with a natural, green colour palette. For the font we wanted a whimsical, romantic feel for the logo with a thin easy to read font for large amounts of copy.
So after months of planning and deliberating we finally launched the new branding across all platforms and have even updated our blog layout to compliment are new style. We hope you like it as much as we do! Take a look at all the branding elements – we would love to hear your thoughts and comments!
