We love autumn so much we decided to jot down all of our favourite autumn wedding ideas for you guys! Many of you may be planning an autumnal wedding for this time next year, and it is a good idea to start the planning or at least gathering together of ideas. Whether that be going crazy with the rustic hues of autumn or stock piling cosy blankets for your outdoor ceremony, we have got plenty of ideas up our sleeves for all you autumnal brides and grooms!

one. leaves – an autumn staple, use them for decoration EVERYWHERE! Bear in mind you might need to collect them close to the big day so that they dry in time and don’t get too curly and crunchy. Some of our favourite ideas include writing on them for name settings (see our calligraphy how to blog post here), covering jam jars in them to use as cosy tea light holders, decorating the centre of the table with them, paint them in glitter and hang as garlands, scatter them down the aisle, use them as biodegradable confetti, display your rings on them for photos, use a few as buttonholes and decorate the cake with them to name but a few!
two. hot chocolate station – it does get a bit nippy in the evenings come autumn so keep guests warm with a hygge inducing hot chocolate station! Whipped cream and marshmallows compulsory 😉
three. pumpkins – there are just SO many ways you can incorporate pumpkins into your autumn wedding. Even for those with an orange colour theme phobia, there are WHITE PUMPKINS ARGHHH!!! We love the idea of making them into tea light holders, carving them into a postbox for cards, drilling holes into them to make beautiful lanterns, write on them for name settings, line them down the sides of the aisle, carbs ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’ in them for the top table, write your table names on them, use assorted colours and sizes as table centrepieces, spray paint them to your colour theme…the list goes on!
four. rustic colours – it’s not all about orange, we are thinking gold, burgundy, plum, navy, blush pink, heather purple, ocean blue, olive green, charcoal…
five. keeping’ cosy – if you are lucky enough to choose a sunny day in autumn and you can still have your outdoor wedding of dreams, but remember guests will get chilly. Provide blankets for snuggling up and don’t forget coverups for the bride and her maids.
six. apple-y ever after – following closely behind pumpkins we reckon apples are up there for autumn decorations! A metallic calligraphy doodled polished red apple looks divine as a name setting. Similarly to pumpkins above you can use them for a range of purposes but some of our favourites have to be toffee apple favours and bobbing tea light holder apples.

seven. all the caramel – it’s autumnal coloured, when it’s heated it warms you up and it looks absolutely dreamy dripping down the side of a nearby naked wedding cake. Caramel should make an appearance at any autumnal wedding! Cross it with apples above and you could even feature a caramel apple bar as an evening snack!

eight. candles – cosy autumn evenings where the light fades that little bit earlier call for hundreds of candles. Make the atmosphere intimate and friendly with a display of tall dinner candles on long tables, add tea lights in jam jars and line them around your venue. Just remember to keep safe!

nine. bonfire + fireworks – in the UK we love nothing better than a bonfire and fireworks on Bonfire Night (5th November). Include this in your autumn wedding and get cosy around a bonfire (don’t forget the hay bales, blankets and marshmallows!) and end the night with a bang by watching a firework display.

ten. autumn florals – there are some truly stunning autumn bouquets doing the rounds on Instagram at the moment. We LOVE astilbe, protea, grasses (such as pampas grass), eucalyptus, feathers (ok not a flower…), thistle, cafe au lait roses and dahlias.
