Today’s beautiful real wedding – or rather vow renewal complete with baby bump – is one of our absolute favourite outdoor ceremonies. With just the couple and the photographer, this intimate, rugged and love filled session is captured in the most beautiful light by photographer Yeray Cruz. The love and story of Sara and Alberto shines through in every picture and the volcanic landscape in Tenerife is unbelievable. We spoke to Sara, who runs her own wedding planning company Presume de Boda in Spain about their romantic day…
Hi, my name is Sara. I’m from Spain and am the main character of this story that took place in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. My husband Alberto and I got married in 2012 in a very lovely wedding that took place next to the beach. It was 5 years ago and, after our struggle trying to have a baby I finally got pregnant in September last year. It was such a big surprise to us and we therefore thought this moment deserved a very special and unique celebration celebrating the two most important people: the two of us.
We decided to prepare an elopement/vow renewal coinciding with our 5th wedding anniversary. We wanted a special spot, different from the landscape we are most used to in the center of Spain. We decided this should be upon the top of our country with the world at our feet. We also had a special witness – Mount Teide, a volcano in the middle of the natural volcanic park.
We prepared everything with a limited time, but with all our love. We wrote two speeches full of emotion, remembering the path we’d walked together in these five years. We gave each other bracelets as a love symbol of unity and unbreakableness. A dress chosen to fit my new figure and a beautiful flower crown to make myself feel like a bride again. There were candles to guide us with their light, and a natural bouquet made of erodes – a typical plant from the island which we would leave in Mount Teide as a offering.
No matter what we had in our minds, our future baby with us – the most important guest in that celebration and the most precious gift to receive our love. We wanted him to be there with his parents, in one of the most important days of our lives.
Thank you so much to Sara for sharing such a wonderful love filled day and beautiful story. And for photographer Yeray for such stunning photographs – that light is simply amazing! Find more real weddings and styled shoots on the blog here.
