Inspired by the wild shores of Iceland where wedding shoots are often raw and wild, this shoot was actually taken in Spain. Photographer Ana Mata wanted to show her clients that you don’t always need a sunny day with palm lined beaches to take the most spectacular wedding photographs…
Ana told us her inspiration behind the shoot:
I was inspired by the beaches of Iceland, on cloudy days and in romanticism and with warm colours. Asturias in the North of Spain has these beaches! We love foreign places and shoots, but we just didn’t realise that we have all of this this near to home. I talked with our wedding planner Lorena, El Sueño de Olivia because although photographers have a lot of ideas we often need someone to help determine the style and also to take care of the decoration – especially as a lot of things were made with her hands!I wanted the editorial to be romantic yet moody and filled with nature. We used browns, greens, burgundy and whites. The bouquet was made from uncovered stems with paniculate, charity roses, daisy’s, limonium, fern leaves and olives.
Thank you so much Ana! These stunning images do have that rawness of Icelandic wedding shoots which we adore – and all taken in Spain! It really goes to show you don’t need bright sunshine for truly stunning photographs. For more from the suppliers, see below and see more real weddings and styled shoots here.
