One of the things we love the most about running a wedding blog is poring over all the gorgeous images we get sent. Today’s new supplier David Michael Photography takes stunning, natural images of your wedding and combines a relaxed, reportage style. We spoke to David himself to find out more about his style, love of weddings and advice for any newlyweds…
Tell us a a bit more about David Michael Photography…
I provide high quality images to luxury wedding clients who value photography as a priority.
What inspired you to start your business?
I always wanted to be a full-time professional photographer, and when I was planning my wedding in 2002 I noticed a gap in the market for documentary photography as not many people were doing this style at the time. I put plans in place to start my own business shortly after which came to fruition in April 2004.
How are you different from any other similar suppliers?
The wedding market is flooded with photographers, and many claim to be the same style. Every single one has a different pair of eyes and a different personality, which makes us all significantly different. My target market is very clear, and clients who book me are buying into my experience, personality, and style of imagery.
What do you love most about working in the wedding industry?
Actually sharing someone’s big day with them. It is a real honour to be trusted to capture someone’s wedding, and a real privilege to witness so many amazing celebrations.
What would be your number one piece of advice for a bride to be?
Hire the best quality suppliers you can, and then let go on the day and trust them to deliver for you. Go ahead and enjoy yourself!
Tell us about the best thing you have seen at a wedding you have been to?
Photographing a lovely couple at the top of a mountain in Scotland. I will never forget those views for as long as I live.
Finally, in one sentence why should someone choose David Michael Photography?
Because wedding photos become your memories and they are too important to not get right.
