Your wedding day is one of the most special, wonderful days you will ever experience; a day when family and friends come together to celebrate your love for each other. Along with this, your busy days, months (even years) of planning and hard work, all deserve to portrayed in beautiful photographs that can be cherished for years (and generations) to come. What inspired you to start wedding photography?

Ever since I was a little girl I have always been fascinating by weddings, like many other little girls I used to dream of what a magical day it would be! After studying photography at a-level I meet a photographer who I started assisting at weddings (fantastic, I thought, combining my passion for photography and love of weddings!). For the next 4 years I started working regularly as a second shooter for various wedding photographers across Hampshire and Dorset. It was my passion along with working with so many inspiring and supportive photographers that inspired me to follow my dream to work as a full-time photographer.

How are you different from any other similar suppliers?

My style is very relaxed and natural, with minimal posing. This also helps people relax in front of me and my camera, allowing me to capture beautiful real life moments. Documentary photography is a term often used for my style – documenting and telling your story through my images. A second photographer is always included to assist me throughout the day, whose work is always of a high standard. I find this gives the best coverage throughout your wedding day. I am a great believer in keeping things simple so I just offer the one day package which includes a pre-wedding photoshoot, coverage from 2 photographers from bridal/groom preparations until end of first dance, a beautiful wooden USB of all high resolution images presented in a lovely keepsake box and a password protected online gallery.

What do you love most about working in the wedding industry?

I love absolutely everything about working in this wonderful industry, from meeting other lovely suppliers and making life-long friends ,to being surrounded by all things pretty as well as witnessing some AMAZING quirky ideas. I think the one thing I love the most is being part of such an exciting and important day of two people’s lives – bringing two families together, one of the most special, wonderful days you will ever experience.

What would be your number one piece of advice for a bride to be?

Go for what you really want, don’t feel like you have to go for the tradition or what is expected, and accept help in making these dreams of yours a reality! Then finally on the day remember to keep looking around and soaking it all in as the day flies by!

Tell us about the best thing you have seen at a wedding you have been to

At the last wedding I photographed the bride and groom high fived after saying their vows – sometimes it’s just the little things that make a big impression! Also I would highly recommend humanist ceremonies – they are amazing!

Finally, in one sentence tell us why someone should choose you to photograph their day?

The photography of your wedding is an investment that lasts not just your lifetime, but also those that follow so it’s very important that you choose the right photographer to reflect you as a couple, and to tell the whole story of your special day (and have lots of fun in doing so!)
