What inspired you to start Darlish?
Darlish was inspired by my heritage and desire to produce a different kind of dessert which showcased the sweeter side of Persian cooking and new flavour infusions.
How are you different from any other similar suppliers?
Our recipes and flavour combinations are completely unique and handmade using high quality, authentic ingredients. We have developed recipes which are refreshingly different to typical puddings we eat in day-to day life.Weddings are full of creative and innovative touches and we feel that should follow right through to dessert!
We also have a bespoke ice cream cart which adds a touch of elegance to a wedding celebration. It can be personalised to be consistent with the wedding colour scheme or feature a more personal message.
What do you love most about working in the wedding industry?
I love adding a little bit more happiness to someone’s special day. The bride and groom’s priority always seems to be about making sure their guests are enjoying themselves, and are fed and watered. It’s really lovely knowing you are helping to make that happen, whether it’s a spoonful of dessert which ends a delightful meal and a round of emotional speeches, or a pot of ice cream that keeps your guests happy whilst the wedding party have their photos taken. Apart from that, being somewhere where there is so much love and pride for two people is pretty spectacular.
What would be your number one piece of advice for a bride to be?
Secondly, it’s YOUR special day. Don’t worry about your guests – they’re having a great time.
Tell us about the best thing you have seen at a wedding you have been to
